Sal lemon shark experience

4.6/5
6444 reviews

Living in the coastal subtropical waters around Sal, lemon sharks are one of the easiest sharks to spot in their natural habitat. You'll venture out to Shark Bay with a marine biologist to interact and learn about these fascinating creatures on this half-day trip.

After pick-up from your hotel, you'll drive to Shark Bay over on the east coast of Sal where your lemon shark experience will begin. You'll wade out into the water with a marine biologist, who will guide you step by step and teach you all about this incredible species.

Spot their yellow-tinted skin – ideal for camouflage in the sandy shores – and watch them as they go about their business, twisting and turning, and looking for fish just a few feet away. You'll see their fins cutting through the surface of the water and get to know these sharks closer than you could imagine.

Absolutely fantastic day! We learned about the sharks and conservation on our way to the bay. Very knowledgeable. Getting into the sea with the sharks was mind blowing, we had several baby and adolescent lemon sharks swimming very close and even some adults less than 2 metres away. My daughter has always had a phobia of sharks but even she loved the experience. I'd recommend this trip to everyone

Our guide Alex was a mine of great information, not only about the sharks but also the island and things being done to help wildlife. Being in the water with the sharks was absolutely amazing, we even saw a few adult sharks just feet away from us, but not too close. 10/10

Our guide Patrick was very knowledgeable & gave us full information about the sharks, things that we were not aware of...The staff at the site were helpful too , helping us in & out of the water as it is stoney underfoot but It has been a truly memorable experience.

Enjoyed seeing the sharks but you may want to warn elderly clients that waves may be strong and knock them off their feet

RATHER rocky for elderly to get out to the sharks. I'm 73 and just managed it.
