Boa Vista may be famed for its Caribbean-style beaches, but it's also home to an incredible array of fauna. This birdwatching experience shines light on over 20 species of bird that flock to its wetlands to breed. See Egyptian vultures, red-billed strawtail, white womb and many more, all accompanied by a local professional to help you spot the lesser known breeds.

Great Nature Tour of Boa Vista, wonderful birdwatching, amazing landscapes, unexpected sights and photos : close-up osprey eating a fish ; tropic birds ; gannets/boobies diving on large school of sardines, lemon sharks swimming around...; baby turtles going to the sea. Unforgettable moments! Thank you to our guide Strava who knows very well the island and gives all kinds of useful information. 5 star.

Best trip we did on Boa Vista. Guide took up to see Kestrels and Ospreys (saw them sea fishing), and then to a freshwater lake which was full of waders, herons, cormorants etc. His kit was terrific - binoculars with mega magniifcation for the birds of prey in particular. Highly recommended.

I enjoyed being shown some sights that I would never have found on my own. Strava was an excellent guide and an amiable companion.

The original guide didn’t turn up so our TUI guide Jordan had to find us an alternative guide for later in the day. The guide we did have was excellent and we saw 26 species and some of the varied landscapes. Definitely worth doing.

Extremely knowledgeable and accommodating guide in Pedro. Excellent tour. Only downside was that we couldn't find the White Womb - your translator needs to speak to Pedro about the actual species rather than providing a word for word translation.

The guide was very knowledgeable. He took us to find all the birds we asked him to. His local knowledge was excellent. Binoculars provided were good quality. A telescope may have been useful at the Rabil Lagoon - as some birds fairly distant. Only downside was booking - did online before the holiday. Original day cancelled last minute. Second day not confirmed. Finally the in-house rep was able to rebook for our last day. Thus, would suggest booking on arrival not beforehand.
