Kunstpalast: paintings and sculptures from the Middle Ages to the present day are complemented by special collections of decorative arts and design, graphic art and photography. An important glass collection and international exhibitions (e.g. Peter Lindbergh, Tony Cragg, Gerhard Richter) expand the repertoire.
K20/K21 Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen:
K20: works by Picasso, Matisse, Mondrian and Klee are on permanent display. Representatives of American post-war art such as Jackson Pollock, Robert Rauschenberg and Andy Warhol are also included - of course Etel Adnan, Joseph Beuys, Helen Frankenthaler and Katharina Fritsch are not missing.
K21: presents the international contemporary art collection. In addition to innovative special exhibitions, there are works by Thomas Struth, Thomas Schütte, Hito Steyerl, Isa Genzken and Ai Weiwei.
Kunsthalle: focuses on changing exhibitions, often focusing on the art scenes of Asia and the examination of the human individual. Special: Joseph Beuys' black pipe rises from the western outer wall.
NRW-Forum: is primarily aimed at a young target group and is consistently contemporary, digital, innovative, experimental and surprising. It is dedicated to photography, pop and digital culture.
KIT - Kunst im Tunnel: under the concrete walls young contemporary art is exhibited, in particular sculptures, paintings, photography, videos and installations. It is located under the Rhine embankment promenade.
