Do this because

  • Discover the history of the Vikings and their ancient myths and legends
  • Spend three days exploring the Highlands and the magical Isle of Skye
  • Soak up the beauty of the Scottish countryside's wild glens, mountains and rivers

What to expect

Venture into the Highlands of Scotland and discover some of the most iconic sights and scenery that the UK has to offer. You'll have three days to explore the Isle of Skye and the Highlands and dive into the fascinating history held there.

Bid Edinburgh farewell and start your journey north, you'll travel through the stunning Scottish countryside and make a couple of stops along the way at Dunkeld and Fort Augustus where you might spot Nessie if you're lucky. Your home for the night will be on the Isle of Skye in the town of Portree, and you'll be ready to spend your second day exploring this scenic island.

Bursting with myths and legends, you'll hear all about the tales of Bonnie Prince Charlie's escape from the mainland and more as you discover the beauty of Scotland's most iconic island. You'll see Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock with its cascading waterfall and Dunvegan's impressive castle before having another night on the island to relax and sleep. * Dunvegan Castle is only open during summer.

It's at this point that things change a little depending on the season. In the summer (from mid-April to mid-Oct), on the third day, you'll take the ferry to the West Coast fishing village of Mallaig and then to Dundreggan Rewilding Centre. As you head back to the capital, the views promise to astound you from the Glenfinnan Viaduct to Glenoe and the wild Rannoch Moor. During the winter months (from mid-October to mid-April), you'll head south via the Skye Bridge.
