Marimurtra Botanical Gardens and Girona guided walking tour

4.4/5
77 reviews

This exclusive tour visits two of the Costa Brava's gems in just one day. You'll begin among the sweet scents of more than 4,000 plants at the Marimurtra Botanical Gardens. Mignon, one of our guides, says, ‘I've lived here for 30 years, yet when I first visited the gardens, I felt happiness and had an image of what paradise should look like. The flowers and trees, with the Mediterranean in the background, are beautiful.' You'll also head inland to Girona. If you're a Game of Thrones fan, you'll have a field day discovering film locations around the old town.

Your trip kicks off at Marimurtra Botanical Gardens, whose mind-boggling array of plants rivals its picture-perfect setting atop the cliff. What's more, you'll have the added bonus of jumping the queues and visiting early in the morning before the crowds arrive. Enjoy expansive views over the coast while your expert local guide gives you insights into the exotic flora. The cypress-fringed stroll down to a viewpoint overlooking a cove and rocky headland is the stuff of dreams.

Next up is the medieval city of Girona, where you'll have a snapshot of its 2,000-year-old history on a guided tour around the walled Old Quarter. Later, enjoy some free time to explore at your own pace – maybe you'll be tempted to see more of El Call, the well-preserved former Jewish quarter. Or stroll over to the pastel-coloured houses perched above the River Onyar or visit the cathedral – which served as the Great Sept of Baelor in Game of Thrones.

The hour journey picking other people up even before setting off then retracing the journey up and down mountains before being dropped off then the TUI rep standing on the bus steps with money in her hand like a begging bowel asking for a tip not very professional spent more time on the bus not a pleasant experience

We enjoyed the trip. What we didn't enjoy was the hour it took to pick up other passengers. The Hotel rep said 45 mins to 1 hour from our hotel to Girona and denied the fact that it would take the extra hour to pick up passengers

Well we are both into Gardening so we really enjoyed both trips. it was nice to have both trips on the one day as a day in each would have been too long. Our guide was very pleasant and informative and helpful to all. it would have been too much to take on on our own . Thank you TUI

Het omrijden om de andere bezoekers op te pikken aan de andere hotels maakt dat je veel tijd verliest.
