Valencia visit with panoramic city drive and guided walking tour

4.4/5
580 reviews

Valencia isn't just culture – it's also an enticing place to dine out and hit the shops. On this full day tour, you'll have the chance to see the sights on a panoramic drive, then get the lowdown on a guided walking tour of the heart of the city. Martí, one of our local guides, says, "Valencia has really come out of the shadows in recent decades, and now stands shoulder to shoulder with Barcelona and Madrid in terms of art, culture and cuisine. Our old town, one of the largest in Europe, is packed with sights, with the Silk Exchange shining brightest of all."

You'll start off with a panoramic city drive for an overview of the town and an explanation of some of the major sights. Next, you'll set off on a guided walking tour around the city. Your expert local guide will show you around, sharing local insight into the history and explaining some of the highlights. When the tour is over, you'll have free time to explore further, grab a bite to eat or browse the shops.

The streets around Calle Colon, a modern boulevard, boast all kinds of stores – from global high street brands to luxury goods shops as well as the latest in technology. There are also smaller, original boutiques selling haute couture clothing. Martí adds, "If all that shopping tires you out, pop over to the art nouveau Colon Market. It's evolved into an epicurean food hall and is a go-to, not just for the nibbles but for the design of the building itself. It's a good spot to take a break at one of the cafés."

Tour guide very informative on the walk tour had to have it in 2 languages therefore took longer. Also outward journey took just over 1 hour but return journey took over 2 hours why. 2 pax did not return to coach on time but after picking them up somewhere else. This only added 20 mins

The guided walking tour was informative and timings were good. The TUI guide translated the walking guide’s narrative into Dutch for non English guests which was great for them but meant longer time was spend at each place leaving less free tine to look around. Just my personal opinion. I was very disappointed with only having 30 minutes at the oceanographic centre and science museum area. Better to do 2 seperate trips

The guides were fantastic and we had a really full and informative day trip good to see both old and new Valencia architecture. Time taken to explain everything in 2 languages did slow it down a bit

The coach was a mix of English & German. guide relayed information in both languages on bus, fine. At Valencia our new guide only spoke English. She said 1 hour was not long for tour. she explained in English then we had to wait for him to translate. The group was large and it was difficult to get close to hear. With so many people I would have expected 2 guides, 1 of each language. we did not get the full tour experience as we only got half the time. got a lot of free time. Disappointed

beautiful city but wasn't worth paying for the guided tour. Our guide on the bus talked the whole way there because he said everything in Dutch and then in English. When we arrived we were met by a second guide. She gave us information in English then the other guide repeated it all in Dutch. we had to stand for twice as long in one spot. We asked if they could separate the group so that we didn't have to listen twice. People got fed up and wondered off. So we made our own way round in the end.

Very good tour guide in Sariel who organised and explained everything in detail and precisely throughout. Everyone responded by being on time, from start to finish. Good knowledge of the area too and pleasant and helpful.
