Your tour departs from central Barcelona, from which you will head for the village of Monistrol de Montserrat. From Monistrol you will take the “Cremallera de Montserrat”, a cogwheel train with great views of the countryside and the mountain.

Once at the Monastery, your guide will provide plenty of information about the location during a guided visit – history, legends and the importance of this site in the development of Catalonia. After walking through the monastery, and visiting a couple of viewpoints, you will get back to the bus.

It is now time for food and wine! Only a short drive away awaits Oller del Mas Cellar. Located in a 10th-century castle at the feet of Montserrat, this organic family-run winery is surely one of a kind. Before visiting the winery, you will stop at Oller del Mas restaurant for a fabulous multi-course local meal accompanied by regional wine.

The homemade, local cuisine will ensure a gastronomic adventure for every personal taste. To end this perfect day, your local tour guide will lead a guided visit through the winery and you will have the opportunity to sample three organic wines.

Important to know

Know in advance:

There is a limit of 20 people per guide, although transportation will be shared with other groups. Under exceptional situations, the group may increase up to 22 people
Please be aware that due to unforeseen circumstances, the sequence of visits may change. In such cases, the winery will be visited first, followed by Montserrat
Temperatures in Montserrat and the winery tend to be more extreme than in Barcelona. Please check the weather forecast the day before and dress accordingly
Your guide will ask you about any special dietary requirements and food restrictions at the beginning of the tour
Infants aged 3 or less may join the tour free of charge but note that no car seat or meals are provided
For logistic reasons, you might visit another winery instead of Oller del Mas

It was a great day exploring Montserrat and visiting a winery with our guide Javi. You can tell he was very knowledgeable of the area and about wine as he facilitated the wine tasting. He recommended things to do during our 1.5 hours of free time (which wasn’t a lot but enough to do a few things)

Great day well organised and considerate Pol was an excellent guide it was interesting to learn the history as we went along and were well looked after It was good value for money we really enjoyed the lunch some music would have been nice to set the atmosphere as we ate
