Yes. You travel with a knowledgeable guide throughout all three days. The desert camp is staffed and well-established. The tour follows a well-known route through southern Morocco. Not suitable for children under 3; minimum 2 participants required.

What happens to my hotel booking?

You'll be away from your Agadir hotel for two nights. If you're on a TUI package holiday, this replaces two hotel nights. Let reception know you'll be away — no cancellation needed.

What is included in the price?

The price covers a guided tour in an air-conditioned vehicle, hotel pick-up and drop-off from Agadir, dinner and breakfast each day, one night in a hotel in Tinghir, and one night in a desert camp at Merzouga. Additional food and drinks are not included.

What is the best time of year to visit?

October to April offers the most comfortable temperatures for the desert. Summer months are extremely hot in the Merzouga area, though desert nights remain pleasant.

Do I need to be fit for this experience?

No special fitness is required. Travel is mostly by vehicle, with walks on sand dunes at Merzouga. Comfortable shoes recommended. Not suitable for children under 3.

This route from Agadir threads through saffron fields in Taliouine, the cinematic fortress of Ait Ben Haddou and the dramatic cliffs of the Dades Valley before arriving at the desert itself. A walk across towering dunes at sunset and a night in a desert camp under a sky full of stars make the journey worth every winding kilometre.

What makes the night special

The camp sits among the dunes of Merzouga, far from any light or sound beyond the desert itself. As the sky darkens, traditional music drifts between the tents and the campfire crackles. You're invited to join locals around the flames to share stories, songs and the rhythm of nomadic life. Overhead, the Sahara sky opens into a blanket of stars. A sunrise or sunset walk across the golden sand brings a silence and scale like nowhere else.

Departing Agadir, head south through Taliouine, Morocco's saffron capital, and Taznakht, known for its handwoven Berber carpets. Continuing to Ouarzazate, you'll stop at the iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the nearby cinema studios. After a meal in town, the route takes you through the dramatic Dades Valley, with its rugged cliffs and oasis scenery, before arriving in Tinghir for an overnight stay surrounded by mountain landscapes.

After breakfast, wander the Tinghir oasis where palm groves thrive beneath the Atlas Mountains. Continuing towards Merzouga via Arfoud, stop to taste traditional local pizza. Visit Errisani, a historic desert town, before the landscape opens into the vast dunes of the Sahara. At camp, settle in and join locals for traditional music around the fire. A sunset or sunrise walk across the golden dunes is one of the most powerful moments of the trip.

Rise early to watch the desert light shift across the dunes as the colours change from deep rose to gold with the lifting sun. After breakfast in camp, begin the journey back towards Agadir, retracing the route through Taznakht and Taroudant, arriving back in Agadir by evening.
