Know in advance:

From March 10, 2026 through summer 2028, the Musée d'Orsay will undertake a major renovation of its visitor reception areas in several phases, with the aim of improving visitor comfort and reducing the building's environmental footprint. During the renovation works, the museum will remain open to the public during its usual opening hours. Please find the new temporary access map, effective from March 10, in the photo gallery
Opening times: Tuesday to Sunday 9.30 am - 6.00 pm (last access to the museum at 5.00 pm; last access to the exhibitions at 5.15 pm; closing of the rooms from 5.30 pm); late opening on Thursday until 9.45 pm (last access to the museum and exhibitions at 9.00 pm; closing of the rooms from 9.15 pm); closed every Monday, May 1 and December 25
Free admission (upon presentation of proof of entitlement) for: visitors under 18; 18-25 years old nationals or long-term residents of a country in the European Union; holders of a valid Education Pass; disabled visitors with an accompanying person; jobseekers; Paris Museum Pass holders; White Card members; members of the Barnes Foundation; members of Louvre Abu Dhabi; members of the Société des Amis du Musée d'Orsay or American Friends of the Musée d'Orsay
Free admission for all visitors on the first Sunday of each month; please note that the reservation of a visit slot is mandatory
Ticket price: 16€ + 2€ booking fee added at checkout

Meeting point:

Present your ticket at Entrance 'C' of the museum (valid until March 9). From March 10, 2026, due to renovation works, access for holders of pre-booked tickets without a time slot will be from the 'Parvis' Entrance in the forecourt. Please find the new temporary access map, effective from March 10, in the photo gallery.

Unfortunately we arrived when there was a strike of workers in the Restaurants. We had saved ourselves lunch because we were going to eat at the Gallery. In other respects the visit was good. We had booked an unspecified ticket and the queue was not too long and we focussed on the 5th floor.

Ich habe für meine Buchung für das Museum keine CR-Code erhalten. Das einzige was meine Buchung nachweisen konnte war eine buchungsnummer die ausschließlich über den Browser abrufbar war. Die Buchung lies sich auch nicht über die App mit den selben Zugangsdaten aufrufen. Ich konnte mit dieser Buchung das Museum nicht besuchen. Stand 2 Stunden in der Kälte um einer der ersten zu sein nur um enttäuscht nachhause gehen zu müssen.
