Get some snaps of the imposing Colossi of Memnon – the two sandstone giants who’ve been standing guard over ancient Thebes for millennia. Then head to the Valley of the Kings to see the royal tombs and learn about the history and beliefs of the pharaohs. Your final stop celebrates one of ancient Egypt’s few female rulers, Hatshepsut. Framed by the sheer cliffs of Deir el-Bahari, the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut makes a lasting impression with its symmetrical design and elegant terraces.
