Brač island tour from Supetar with wine-tasting

4.5/5
57 reviews

This half-day tour of Brač just gets better and better. You'll visit an olive oil museum in Skrip, see traditional stonemasons at work in Pucisca, and end the day on a high at Vidova Gora – the highest point in the Adriatic islands. Add in some Dalmatian wine tasting to the mix and it's a great introduction to the island's history and culture. One of our expert local guides, Luka, says “you'll be a Brač expert by the end of this trip. Not only will you get to sample a bunch of the regions specialities, but you'll dive into the world of stonemasonry, which is something not a lot of tourists here have discovered yet.”

Leaving Supetar early in the morning, you'll wind your way up to the hamlet of Skrip. The island's oldest settlement, it's where you'll visit a fascinating olive oil museum for some tastings along with local cheeses, olives and meats.

Next up is Pucisca, a pretty, coastal town famed for its white limestone quarry. The stone here has been used to build some of the world's most recognisable landmarks, including the White House in Washington DC, Diocletian's Palace in Split and the Vienna parliament building. You'll stop by for a visit and also drop into Croatia's only stonemason school, followed by a tasting of two local wines. The last stop of the tour is the summit of Vidova Gora. At 780 metres high, it offers panoramic views over not just Brač but other islands, including Hvar, Vis, Korčula and the Peljesac Peninsula.

Good small coach and very good guide on a dull day but did notice that we were on a pegasus bus tour with no tui badge on it and we could have had the same tour from them for at least 10-15 pounds less....

The tour guide was excellent and had a lot of local knowledge. The olive oil stop was a highlight, they tell you a bit about the history of olive oil manufacturing & you get to try some delicious samples! The stonemasons school was disappointing, you aren’t really allowed in so we just stood in a room, learned a few facts and then left. The wine tasting similarly so, you get 2 samples and don’t really learn too much. The only other downside is the travel sickness - the minibus was stuffy.

Olive oil museum was amazing! Less impressed with the wine tasting, expecting to see how it was made, but just given a quick talk and two small tasters
