Venice has introduced a tourist tax of EUR 5.00 per person to enter the city, this must be paid at least four days before your visit, or it rises to EUR 10.00. It pplies to visitors over 14 years old from 08:30 to 16:00 and it can be paid online exlusively via the Venice tourist board website: https://cda.ve.it
So far the dates that the Venice tourist tax applies in 2026 are: Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in April, May, June and July, plus 6th April, 24th April - 3rd May and 1st June - 7th June
It is mandatory to pay this tourist tax on the selected dates and not paying will result in being denied entry into Venice

We were not informed that the people on the boat or those running it were going to offer to take us to lunch somewhere or a gondola ride or a taxi from St Mark's Square for extra if we wanted. We had to pay more but we felt that we could of got the excursion cheaper through them and got more opportunities do do other things rather than walk around Venice. Yes the bus ride was great and the people on the boat were brilliant at every level

We booked the venice trip because we wanted to take advantage of being able to see it while we could. The day in total was quite long withe the travel,but we felt that was part of the trip and anyway the guides on the boat were informatiive and witty which helped. We decided to pay the extra for the full package with a guide and it was well worth it. It made the day even more special , i would definatly recommend..it was a truly memorable and unforgettable day Thankyou tui and compass

It’s a long day but the guides were very informative and helpful. It was very hot but not rushed. Far better than wondering round aimlessly , so well organised. A bit costly added on to the actual cost but well worth it for us . Food at restaurant lovely and ample , within walking distance if rialto bridge

Fabulous day out in Venice . Everything went smoothly and well organised. The guides were amazing with the history and knowledge of Venice. We did the whole package which was sold to us on the ferry, but we didn’t know the trip had to be paid for in cash , £230Euro . The lunch was good , plenty of wines, water & soft drink . I had read negative reviews re the meal but that wasn’t our experience. Yes it’s a long day 6am - 8.30pm, but for us well worth it for an amazing day out , incredible Venice

Great trip but would have liked longer to explore and wander through the streets. The gondola ride was a waste of money it was smelly and nothing to look at!! The lunch was great value and very tasty. The guides were very friendly and helpful.

I thought it was a brilliant trip, I’d put it in my top 10 of life experiences . A long day but well worth it. We bought the day package and the Only downside was the lunch we had . There were 3 types of pasta put on your plate with no other options . Not the best ☹️
