Seeing Asian elephants from a few metres away is one of life's must-do experiences – so this trip is a big tick on the bucket list. Head to an elephant santuary in Khao Lak, and you'll get to go behind-the-scenes to learn all there is to know about these gentle giants. Arriving at its beautiful lagoon setting, you'll get to know the elephants' stories and prepare their food. After time to observe them and help with their care, you'll finish off with a tasty Thai lunch and a chance to make a traditional Thai herbal pomander 'Ya-Dom' which you can take with you.

This was a very good tour. The transfer didn't take long. We got to make the elephants food by mixing ingredients and then feed them. We then made a little jar of herbal inhaler and had lunch which was nice. Beware of probably getting splashed by elephants when you're watching them have a bath. Also swimwear not required (despite it saying being swimwear) as you don't need it for anything.

The day from start to finish was outstanding. Tour guide was excellent, the whole package was value for money. The experience was amazing and a lifetime memory. The food included at the restaurant was excellent too.
