Private guided tour of Garni, Geghard and Lake Sevan

The itinerary begins with a visit to the Arch of Charents, a monument-viewpoint offering an unrivalled view of the biblical Mt. Ararat. From there, you will continue on to the Pagan Temple of Garni. This historical site is the only standing Hellenistic pagan temple in the Caucasus Region and dates back to the first century AD. It was originally built as a place of worship for the sun god Mihr (Mithra), and its territory also houses a remarkably preserved Roman bathhouse.

Next, prepare to be captivated by the natural wonder, Symphony of Stones. This grand geological masterpiece was shaped over millennia by volcanic activity and erosion. Further along, the Geghard Monastery or Ayrivank awaits discovery. This architectural gem, largely carved inside rock, combines styles from the 4th to 10th centuries of the Armenian Renaissance. Part of the UNESCO World Heritage sites, it shares this distinction with the Upper Azat Valley.

Finally, you will visit Lake Sevan, the second-largest high-altitude freshwater lake in the world. Its former island, now a peninsula, is home to a medieval monastery that offers panoramic vistas of the lake and surrounding mountains. The Sevanavank Monastery, built in the 9th century, houses one of the four remaining Amenaprkich Khachkars. This site intertwines with numerous historic events and important battles, making it not just an architectural treasure but also a symbol of Armenia's history.
