Witness the Morning Exercise, offering an insight into the training of riders and their Lipizzans. You will see the training of young gray stallions and fully-trained school stallions in the beautiful setting of the Winter Riding School.

The Morning Exercise includes relaxation exercises, the refining and perfecting of lessons, and the targeted strengthening of muscles. Every 30 minutes a horse change takes place. During the one hour of public training, you could be able to experience two groups of stallions in different training levels.

In order to protect the horses, the famous high-level jumps which are shown during the performances are not practiced on a daily basis and are only occasionally seen during the Morning Exercise.

Performance was at 10am - you are required to arrive 30mins prior. It was not clear where to queue. From the ticket office were redirected (there are several entrances depending on where you are seated) Again, it was not clear which was the right entrance and there were no staff to help. Our seats were on the balcony. This resulted in the view of half of the arena being obscured and required standing to see. I recommend you sit/stand at the lower level. Thoroughly enjoyed the horses training.

An hour watching 4 or 5 horses jog round in circles was not what we expected nor enjoyed. It’s classed as Spanish riding school training but it was just warming the horses up and very boring for an hour. Some people left after 30 minutes. Not as advertised and not good value for money.

We expected a little more variety in what the horses did, it was a little boring

We booked this thinking it was a Tui organised trip but found out it wasn’t when we had to find our own way there. The reception staff at the Riding school when we picked up our tickets were very unhelpful and rude. There were no signers to the venue and no indication which door to use and there were many in a very large square. But seeing the beautiful horses and riders made up for the start of our experience.

Didn't realise it would be stallions mainly trotting around arena, thought might see say 10 mins of the total hour of some kind of performance of clever maneuvers. Probably should have read the brief properly wanted to visit stallions which I was told we could do but herded out quickly for next training session. Over crowded only saw a souvenir shop so just left afterwards.

Der Eingang zu der Veranstaltung war sehr schlecht zu finden. Zu wenige Beschreibung der einzelnen Übungen der Pferde. Es dürfen keine Fotos gemacht werden.

Children must be accompanied by at least one adult
Due to monument protection, there is no elevator
