For a real taste of Caribbean culture, look no further than this full day bus tour around the Dominican Republic. You'll visit remote villages while learning all about local produce and history.

The adventure kicks off as your guide regales you with the history of the island while we journey through cattle grazing lands and rice fields. You'll drive by a typical rural school, on route to tour some of the island's coffee, cocoa and sugar cane plantations.

Head on to Higuey, and you'll see the famous Altagracia Basilica – a pilgrimage site because of its miraculous image of Our Lady – before a wander around the bustling market. Check out the views of the Cordillera Oriental mountains before we round off with a beach stop and lunch in a local restaurant.

Met deze trip krijg je een inkijkje in het leven van de Dominicaanse bevolking. We hebben geen school en rietplantage gezien en de winkel waar ze producten van kokos verkochten viel tegen, maar daarentegen was de sigarenfabriek leuk en het bezoek aan Higuey (kerk en groente-fruitmarkt) interessant. Wij vonden vooral de rit door het mooie berglandschap geweldig en de lunch was goed geregeld. Al met al waar voor je geld. Wij hebben een mooie dag gehad

A family of 6 and we all really enjoyed this trip. Mama G , Ruth and the driver were all great and we felt very well looked after. Highly recommend this trip.

Good trip overall, good atmosphere on the bus with guide and staff very attentive. Found the walk through the market disturbing in the chicken/meat area and can imagine small children getting upset by it.

Tour guide was great shared a lot of info. The restrooms were tricky without toilet seats as I have a bad knee and can’t hover as did some older tourist. Overall it was a good experience.

From the pick up from the hotel The pickup was on time the rep greeted us with a smile and everything was done professionally. A short drive to a transfer point where we were met with the actual tour guide. Both the tour guide, his assistant and the coach driver made the excursion very exciting and enjoyable. Music dancing and drinks were at hand.The tour guide was very knowledgeable and spoke in English and Spanish perfectly when explaining the history of the country.Truly enjoyable experience.
