Scottish Highlands full-day guided walking tour

Embark on a journey south to Aviemore, the heart of Scotland's outdoor adventure scene. Delve deeper into the Cairngorms' core, arriving at Allt Mor, the starting point for your hike. Here, you'll meet an experienced mountain leader in the car park who will guide you through the ancient Caledonian pine forest towards An Lochan Uaine, the Green Lochan. Keep your eyes peeled for ospreys, eagles, and red squirrels that call this area home.

As you make your way to Glenmore Visitor Centre, the guide will share with you tales of local folklore, history, and geology. If time permits, you may even get to visit a traditional Scottish bothy, a simple mountain shelter once used by shepherds and now a refuge for hill walkers. After immersing yourself in nature’s wonders, return to Aviemore for a well-deserved lunch. The town’s main street is lined with quality cafés serving delectable seasonal produce in a warm, lively setting.

The next stop is the remarkable Loch Garten Nature Reserve, a hidden gem that played a crucial role in saving the osprey from extinction in Scotland. Nestled within an ancient Caledonian pine forest, it’s a tranquil sanctuary for ospreys, red squirrels, and a plethora of other wildlife. Finally, unwind on the mini-coach after a day filled with outdoor exploration, wildlife spotting, and delving into the rich heritage of the Scottish Highlands before returning to Inverness.
