What happens to my hotel booking?

You'll skip one night at your Phuket or Khao Lak hotel. Let your reception know you'll be away for one night. There's no need to cancel your booking. You'll be back at your hotel by around 7.00pm (Phuket) or 4.00pm (Khao Lak) on day two.

What is included in the price?

The price covers hotel pickup and drop-off, air-conditioned transport, and one night at the luxury jungle camp. All meals are included: lunch and dinner on day one, breakfast and lunch on day two. Activities covered: canoeing on the Khao Sok River, the Cheow Lan Lake boat cruise, jungle walk, bamboo raft and cave visit. National Park fees and insurance are also included. Tips are not included.

What is the best time of year to visit?

Khao Sok is accessible year-round. December to April is the driest period with clear skies over Cheow Lan Lake. The wet season from May to November brings heavier rainfall but lush green jungle and fewer visitors. Temperatures stay warm throughout the year.

Do I need to be fit for this experience?

Moderate fitness is helpful. The tour includes river canoeing, a light jungle walk, and bamboo rafting. None are strenuous, but you'll need to be comfortable on water and on uneven jungle paths. Good sturdy walking shoes are essential. The pace is gentle and suitable for most activity levels.

Khao Sok is home to Thailand's oldest rainforest, and this two-day tour takes you deep inside it. You'll canoe along the Khao Sok River past dramatic karst cliffs and spend the night in a luxury tented camp surrounded by dense jungle. The following morning, you cruise the emerald waters of Cheow Lan Lake by long-tail boat. The pace is gentle, the scenery never stops impressing, and the camp feels like a destination in its own right, not just somewhere to rest your head.

What makes the night special

The luxury camp sits in the heart of the jungle with nothing but rainforest in every direction. The tents come with air-conditioning, a proper bed, a refrigerator and hot showers. After a day on the river, you arrive at the camp with the evening free. The rainforest soundtrack builds as the sun goes down, and by morning the surrounding jungle is fully awake before breakfast.

You're collected from your hotel in Phuket or Khao Lak and driven towards Khao Sok National Park, stopping at Sarasin Bridge and the Tsunami Memorial Site along the way. After lunch, you take to the water for a canoe journey along the Khao Sok River. The river winds past dramatic karst scenery and native wildlife in Thailand's oldest rainforest. A stop at a scenic viewpoint gives you sweeping views across the landscape before you arrive at your luxury camp. The rest of the evening is yours to settle in and take in the surroundings. Dinner is served at camp.

After breakfast, you head to Cheow Lan Lake and board a traditional long-tail boat. The cruise takes you across emerald-green water surrounded by towering limestone formations and untouched rainforest. A light jungle walk introduces the area's plants and wildlife. You then hop on a bamboo raft to visit a cave before sitting down for lunch at a floating restaurant with views across the lake. After lunch, the boat takes you back and you'll then catch your transfer to Phuket, arriving at around 7.00pm, or to Khao Lak, arriving at around 4.00pm.
