On the 19th of September 2021 a new volcanic crater was formed near La Palma. The volcano previously known as Cumbre Vieja erupted, completely changing the landscape west of the city. Hiking 6.5km on the newly christened Tajogaite – cracked mountain – you'll almost reach the crater. From here, awesome views of the lava flows and the Aridane Valley open up.

We enjoyed the walk with interesting information from our guide. The area around the volcano crater is fascinating though our guide gave us some insight on what a catastrophic event the eruption was and continues to be for the local population

Very good tour, despite a rude Spanish kady asking questions in Spanish during the English commentary. Simon was brilliant, very passionate.

Our guide Manuel was very informative and handled the English and German elements of the tour well. The WhatsApp message the day before with more information about what to take was helpful.

Amazing hike made even better by Simon our guide. Friendly and extremely knowledgeable he was fascinating to listen to and he ensured all of the group were comfortable offering stops as needed. The pick up and transfer was seamless, I thoroughly recommend this trip.
