Marrakech street food tour by night with 7 tastings

Discover Marrakech’s medina after dark on a food-focused walking experience through its most iconic neighbourhoods and flavours.

The evening begins in the lively Jemaa el Fna square, where storytellers, musicians and food stalls create an unforgettable atmosphere. Follow a carefully selected tasting route starting with a bowl of traditional harira at Lady Fatima’s kitchen. She’s been cooking Harira soup for more than ten years, and locals line up for it. It’s filling, slightly spicy, and rich with lentils, chickpeas, and herbs- simple but very popular with locals.

Continue to the historic Mellah, the former Jewish quarter, to sample freshly made sfenj from a family-run stand that has preserved its craft for generations. Along the way, learn about the customs surrounding Morocco’s famous mint tea. The tour then reveals the secrets of tangia, Marrakech’s signature slow-cooked lamb dish. Visit a traditional oven where clay pots are left to cook for hours in the ashes of a hammam, a method still used by medina residents today. As the scents of cumin, grilled meat and woodsmoke fill the narrow streets, enjoy charcoal-grilled kefta at a long-established local stall before ending the evening with Lamine’s renowned royal-style tangia lamb, with a guaranteed seat included.
