Marrakech medina and souks tour

3.6/5
21 reviews

Walking through Marrakech can only be described as a scene out of Scheherazade's ‘One Thousand and One Nights'. Spice-scented souks and tightly packed alleyways hiding blissful Arabian-style gardens and riads will immerse you in the city's captivating spirit. You'll visit top sights such as Jemaa el-Fnaa and the Medina.

Kick off your afternoon in style with a guided visit to the UNESCO-listed Medina. Its streaming food carts, eye-catching bazaars and street merchants shouting to invite you into their stalls make the atmosphere truly electric. Every corner holds a different aroma, sight and sound, and the more you explore, the more you'll feel like a local.

Head over to Jemaa el-Fnaa, the life and soul of Marrakech. Watch fruit and spice vendors selling their fresh produce and street performers entertain both locals and travellers alike. Finish off your arabesque adventure on a terrace cafe where you can sit down, relax and sip a refreshing drink as you get a bird's-eye view of the square.

The guide spoke as we got off the mini bus, then rushed through the souks. No stopping to shop, we just walked fast through them. He stopped once to explain some ironworks, and other than that, nothing said. Just rushing. The coffee shop we stopped at was nothing special. The only time to shop was at one big "tourist shop" and then at one "copy designer goods shop". A really poor experience of the souks. Would not recommend.

Spent too much time in the holistic shop. The walk through the souks was too quick. Only 30 mins free time for the square. Would NOT recommend. Keep your money

The tour guide was very knowledgeable and answered all the questions, provided extra information at stops. He took us round each sector of the market. However this felt rushed through and no free time to shop was giving. It felt rushed so they could get us to a local pharmacy where they tried to upsell us, prices were quite high and it was difficult to leave without buying anything. After this we went to a cafe where we got our choice of drink and local cakes. However never free time to shop

The guide was knowledgeable and had a good sense of humour. It was a great introduction to the city and the unique area around the souks and the main square. The visit to the spice shop was really enjoyable. Less enjoyable was being left for 20 minutes in a souvenir shop. But overall, we really enjoyed ir.
