Atlas Mountains trekking tour

4.4/5
27 reviews

If you're an early bird and you love making the most of your mornings, then a two-hour trek in the Atlas Mountains will leave you feeling invigorated and ready to explore. You'll be led by an expert guide on a trek through Taghrat Ouankrim, not far from Agadir.

You'll head out into the peace and quiet of the Atlas Mountains early in the morning to avoid the heat of the midday sun. Along the journey, you'll stop at Alma village to take in the views as well as the verdant green Tamzargout Oasis for a photo stop. Once we arrive at Aksri, a typical Berber village, you'll be treated to a traditional breakfast – ideal for charging your batteries ahead of the trek.

From here, you'll then set off on a two-hour trail, passing by deep craggy gorges, soaring summits and rocky expanses. This trail is a great opportunity to experience the Atlas Mountains up close and escape into the tranquillity of nature.

This was not what was stated. We didn’t Trek at all, it took 2.5 hours with random stops for supposedly photo opportunities- then another guide took over who couldn’t communicate at all and walked us round a few fields for 40 mins. Then another 2 hour drive back. After speaking to other hotel guests who booked through trip adviser for less than half of what we paid did an actual Trek in the mountains to a lovely waterfall spring. I was exceptionally disappointed in this trip

A walk a little off the beaten track. About an hour and a half from Agadir. We sampled two walks. One in Berber farmland and on in Paradise Valley. The Berber breakfast was good, but not much of it. Eat before the trip if you can. Couple of toilet stops and shops one for honey and trinkets on the way. One at Argon oil shop which I enjoyed as they gave U a nice talk. Overall very good value for money. Would recommend as good value for money.

The guide was great and had a wealth of knowledge. Saw a lot of the non tourist country. Where people were living. Only minus was that I would have liked to walk into the mountain more.

The tour was very good with a moderate bit of trekking, mainly through a traditional Atlas mountain agricultural valley which was very scenic. The guide Abdul was excellent. The Berber breakfast is genuine but all I will say is have a breakfast before you go on the trip! Expensive for a half day compared to most of the Moroccan day trips.
