Siena, San Gimignano, Monteriggioni and Chianti with lunch

4.3/5
25 reviews

Start your journey in San Gimignano, a world-famous medieval hilltop town known for its ancient towers, frescoes and perfectly preserved historic centre. Your tour leader will escort you to the old town, where you will enjoy about 2 hours of free time to explore its charming streets, artisan shops and panoramic views.

Continue to Monteriggioni (only from April to October), a small medieval village enclosed by its iconic walls, with free time to visit this timeless Tuscan gem. Then travel through the rolling Chianti hills to a welcoming local winery, where you will experience the flavours of Tuscany. Enjoy a tasting of three fine wines, followed by a 3-course Chianti-style lunch prepared with local “zero food miles” products, ending with cantucci and sweet dessert wine.

In the afternoon, reach Siena and meet your professional local guide for a guided walking tour of the historic centre. Stroll through medieval streets, admire elegant palaces and historic shops, and discover Piazza del Campo with the Palazzo Pubblico. Continue to the magnificent 12th-century Siena Cathedral, with inside visit included if the option is selected.

Enjoy free time in Siena before returning to Florence in the evening.

Guides were very good and friendly. Would have liked more time in San Guiginnamo. It felt a bit rushed. Perhaps option to do so would be better.. Perhaps San Guiginnamo, wine lunch then Siena would allow us more time..losing one of the stops...on days when rain expected, perhaps ensure umbrellas

We booked this tour and received our ticket stating we had a Cathedral and Library in Siena visit included in our tour but when we went on the tour we were told that we did not and that Musement had paid the tour operator only for the guided tour. Everything else was as aspected. I enjoyed the tour

The stop at Montereggioni could be omitted and more time allowed for the stop at San Gimignano as a constructive criticism but overall well run and thoroughly professional and enjoyable. Thanks
