Bali's biggest market is where we kick off the tour. Soak up the sights, sounds and scents as you browse stalls selling the island's finest fresh produce. Badung Market is the main source of fresh food for the city, and you'll see locals barter back and forth as you stroll by stalls stacked high with exotic produce and watch it all unfold. It's a great place to try typical Balinese foods, too.
Then, it's on to the Negeri Propins Museum. It houses a priceless collection of prehistoric pieces, ceremonial artefacts and statues from the island's past. Pay your respects at the adjacent Pura Jagatnatha– the city's central Hindu temple – and round off at the legendary Inna Bali Heritage Hotel. Over coffee and cake, you'll hear how it was a holiday hangout for some of history's most famous faces, including Ghandi and the late Queen Elizabeth II.
