All the best bits of Thassos feature on this full day tour. Your guide will recount stories and myths as you traverse the countryside and coastline to the clifftop Archangel Michael monastery, Panagia, and Aliki – for its picture-postcard beach. It's a great way to see the island and the scenery is second to none.

Kick off at Archangel Michael, a 12th century working monastery perched on a cliff edge. Explore the icon-bedecked chapel and soak up the views over the Aegean – on a clear day you can see to Mount Athos, the holy mountain in mainland Greece. Next is Aliki, a beautiful promontory lined by beaches, where you'll have time for some strolling and sunning. We'll also pit stop in Faros for a chance to grab some lunch.

Then it's off to Panagia where you'll visit the blue-domed church as well as see the miniature canals carrying water from the mountains. We'll round off in breezy Thassos town and walk through the ancient marketplace, the centre of trade and politics of its time.

It is a good way to see around the edge of the island but the Archangel Michael monastery is a tourist attraction built around an old church. YOU MUST MAKE IT CLEAR THAT WOMEN MUST WEAR SKIRTS and not just trousers to cover their knees. Many on my trip we embarased at having to wear elasticated skirts over their trousers. Unfortunately, at Aliki the site was closed because of wildfire prevention. Panagia is a village in the mountains on the main road and geared to tourists with gift shops etc.

Got to see so many places of interest around the island you would never think about seeing, basically covering nearly the whole island and a stunning lunch in a stunning location, our guide had so much knowledge she shared with us, well worth going on.

A great way to see and get a feel for the island during your trip. The guide was really knowledgeable about Thassos and its history, so I felt like I got a lot out of the trip, The coffee and lunch spots were both in beautiful coastal spots and there was a good balance between coach travel and getting out and walking.

We waited for missing passengers so all day felt like we were playing catch up. Only had 45 minutes at Aliki beach after seeing ruins had 20 minutes to spend at beach. Nowhere near enough time. Thought we would get to spend more time at Panagia and liminos. Tour was okay great to see island but a lot of time was spent picking up guests and travelling. Spent more time in coach than visiting places. Would not do trip again.

Stopped at a few plces not worth stopping at especially the place for lunch only one place to eat

The guide was brilliant but the itinerary needs to be changed . Those of us who didn’t want lunch , had no choice of where to go , no other options and were left deserted in an isolated location - lunch would have been better in the old town or even in Thassos where there was more options to look around , go shopping etc . You had the monopoly for lunch taking us to one Taverna only …..We did not get a chance for a real swim since the place that we were taken to , was ‘ crammed full ‘
