Palazzo Vecchio was built at the end of 1200 to house the government of the Florentine Republic. In the 16th century, the palace was the residence of the Grand Duke Cosimo I de Medici, and after the unification of Italy, it became the seat of the Parliament when Florence was the capital city of the Kingdom of Italy. The palace is today the seat of the Municipality of Florence.

Palazzo Vecchio also offers one of the best views of the city from the rear terrace. The tour ends in the government halls of the ancient Florentine Republic, namely the Sala dei Gigli and the Hall of Geographical Maps. At the end of the experience, you can continue the visit on your own.
