Dominada por el monte Epomeo, Ischia es una isla pequeña pero montañosa situada en el extremo norte de la bahía de Nápoles. Con sus florecientes jardines, sus ciudades balneario y sus asombrosos paisajes, también es una deliciosa excursión de un día desde Sorrento. Esta excursión incluye un viaje panorámico, tiempo libre para almorzar y los famosos Jardines de La Mortella.

La primera etapa de esta excursión de día completo es la travesía en hidrodeslizador desde Sorrento hasta la volcánica Ischia. A la llegada, conocerá la isla con un paseo panorámico para ver sus lugares más destacados. Hay un descanso para almorzar antes de la siguiente parte de la excursión.

Por la tarde, la estrella del espectáculo son los jardines subtropicales de La Mortella. Creados y cuidados con esmero durante décadas por el compositor inglés William Walton y su esposa argentina, Susana, cuentan con más de 300 plantas raras y exóticas, además de estatuas ornamentales y cascadas. Contemple las vistas desde la colina superior sobre la bahía de Forio, antes de disponer de más tiempo libre hasta que llegue la hora de embarcar de nuevo.

Our guide for the day enhanced our enjoyment of our trip as her knowledge was exemplary. The tour of the island and lunch was excellent. However, the visit to Sir WilliamWalton Mortella gardens exceeded or expectations and is a must for any serious gardener. Would not have missed the tour for all the world.

A beautiful island with friendly people, however we had a long walk to the bus on arrival and the return ferry was late making it a very long day.

We felt the group size was too big approx 45 people with one guide, we didn’t have ear pieces so when she was walking and talking at the front of the group you couldn’t hear a word of what she was saying. We also had a lady with a mobility scooter in the group which significantly slowed us down, this trip shouldn’t have been sold to her as it wasn’t suitable for someone with disabilities. There was also long waits between meeting and the ferry crossing, especially on the way back approx 1.5hrs!

I thought that the tour itself was good, a very pleasant island to visit. The guide was actually born on ischia, so had a good general knowledge of the area. It was a shame that there weren't more stops in the towns or for a bit longer. Lunch at the restaurant was nice but priced a little bit steeply although the cost was separate from the booking fee. The gardens were lovely and 2 hrs visit was probably about the right amount of time to see everything. All in all a nice trip.

Too much travelling. My expectation was to reach the destinations per the imagery, have free time and straight to the gardens instead we travelled a lot by coach, stopped a cpl of time and then onto the only restaurant on the hill (whilst the views are amazing) and the vision of where I thought we were going then not having a choice of where to eat was disappointing

Hi good boat trip on ferry quite a long coach tour which also caught a lot of traffic and only one viewing stop . Lovely lunch and gardens in afternoon . The walk from port and back was quite long and down rickety steps and guide went at her pace there were two couples in group one with a man was partially blind- could easily have got left behind . When we went over traffic lights she took half the group and then the rest were left by a red light felt we needed one at back to check everyone ok
