Lanzarote's volcanic scenery comes into its own at Timanfaya National Park. This corner of the island is all rusty-red peaks and craters straight from a sci-fi movie set. And it's all even more dramatic at sunset. So on this evening trip, you're in for a treat. Before heading to Timanfaya, we'll make a short stop at La Geria winery. Local guide, Maria, says, “this bodega offers a magnificent backdrop of volcanic vineyards and sweeping mountain views as you learn about the unique wine-making methods here - you'll even taste a small sample..”

You'll drive the park's famous Lunar Route around the scorched peaks, known as the Mountains of Fire. Then, enjoy an exclusive stop at Montaña a Rajada lookout, before arriving at El Diablo, a circular restaurant built on top of the Islote de Hilario volcano. Designed by Lanzarote's acclaimed architect, Cesar Manrique, its floor-to-ceiling windows command jaw-dropping panoramas over the national park.

After capturing the candy floss clouds and craters on camera, tuck into dinner sizzled up on the volcano-heated barbecue, enjoying the views and live Canarian music.

What is the itinerary for this experience?

This experience operates on a seasonal schedule, so the itinerary timings vary depending on whether you visit in winter or summer.

Winter itinerary (around late October to late March):

- 2:30pm to 3:50pm – pick-up from Costa Teguise, Arrecife, Puerto del Carmen and Puerto Calero areas

- 3:00pm to 3:50pm – pick-up from Playa Blanca area

- 4:05pm to 4:35pm – learn about local wine at Bodega La Geria

- 4:50pm to 6:15pm – Timanfaya National Park visit with the Lunar Route and a photo stop

- 6:15pm – welcome drink at El Diablo Restaurant

- 6:30pm to 7:45pm – barbecue dinner

- 7:45pm – hotel drop-off begins

Cette excurtion est génial. D'autres le semblent aussi mais les tarifs nous empêche d'en faire plusieurs. Lorsque l'on en fait une , il serait super d'avoir un tarif dégressif pour une autre.

This is was our 5th visit to Timanfaya but only the 2nd evening event, the last evening we did was back in the late 90s! Thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting on the way, our guide Bernado's commentary, witty and full of information, the volcano trip itself takes a different route to the day which we thoroughly enjoyed as we got the chance to step out and take some beautiful photos. Food and service in the restaurant was excellent. Highly recommend this trip.

The guide was fantastic, learned a lot about Lanzarote, was fantastic to learn about the history and see how locals have adapted to changes in the environment. Our driver was great. Dinner was fantastic and the restaurant catered really well for dietary requirements and allergies. The music performance and waiting staff were excellent. Great experience. Felt like we were on another planet at times.
