Starting your trip from Bilbao you'll head to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, which name means "rock castle" in Basque (gaztelu = castle + aitz = rock). You'll have 2 hours to walk across the stone bridge with 241 steps where it will seem like you're ascending to one of the most important fortresses in the series Game of Thrones: Dragonstone. You'll then visit the town of Bermeo, a fishing village with a deep-rooted seafaring tradition. Before finishing your excursion, you'll head towards Gernika, the Basque town that gives its name to the famous painting by Pablo Picasso, where you'll have the chance to visit the gardens of the “Gernika Assembly Hall”.

Una experiencia maravillosa. El día no fue el mejor ya que había mucha niebla y lluvia, pero Stefan, nuestro guía hizo que todo saliera como el mejor de los días. Un aplauso para él.

Bus was heel stipt aan hey Guggenheim Museum. Zeer goeie gids, perfect Spaans-Engelstalig. Er werd zeer goed rekening gehouden met het tijdschema, maar toch kon je rustig alles meemaken

We enjoyed this tour very much. It was a fun but challenging hike on a hot and humid August day. We also really enjoyed the visit to Gurnika and learning of its rich significance to Basque culture and its tragic history.
