First, you'll visit the Castle of Silves, a fantastic monument and a real must-see. You'll then continue to the Cathedral, as well as the Archeology Museum of Silves, a unique place full of historical pieces that tell the history of the region. Next, you'll be heading to the historical village of Monchique, so you can see the best places.

You will also have the chance to explore the mountains for some panoramic and breathtaking views and proceed onward to Fóia, the highest point in the Algarve region and of the Monchique mountain range. Silves (fortress & cathedral) were well worth seeing, as was the countryside. Windy and cold at top of Monchique. View was hazy and obscured by poles and wires. No public toilets there. Would have liked to have learned more about the harvesting of cork.
