A double helping of Bali's most celebrated temples feature on this private afternoon tour. Discover Taman Ayun – the heart of Bali's royal heritage – before heading to the island's most photographed temple – Tanah Lot, where you'll witness a dramatic sunset.

The tour kicks off at Taman Ayun, built in 1634 by the king of the Mengwi dynasty. Translating to 'beautiful garden', the royal temple is regarded as one of the most attractive temples in the country. Wander through the complex, exploring its unique island setting amidst a man-made lake.

Then, it's on to the iconic Tanah Lot, one of Bali's most prestigious temples and sunset spots. Perched on a rock in the middle of the sea, the Hindu shrine is famed for its unique offshore setting. And what better way to end the tour than watching the orange sun sink below the horizon – a real feast for the eyes.

Het regelen van de excursie was top en de begeleiding en chauffeur was zeer goed. De reisleidster was erg aardig ging extra naar een koffie plantage omdat we tijd over hadden om naar Tanah Lot te gaan. We hebben beide een flinke gegeven vonden wij het wel waard. Vreemd.

Omdat wij in het laagseizoen waren, was het erg rustig, heel fijn. De Nederlands sprekende gids Candy was echt top! De chauffeur is heel bekwaam. Leuke trip!

The day was calm. Environment was mild. We went early so there were no crowds. The guide kept us safe and looked after our bags and was able to tell us the history of the both places with the background and how as a custom people of Indonesia respect these grounds. There was a feature film that also played in an auditorium which was very informative telling us about the royal family in the early years.

Due to bad weather, guide was happy to alter itinerary to suit us.

The first part of the tour went well. However the train came in when we got to the Royal Temple. There was thunder and very intense rainfall. We were practically forced out of the car to go and see the palace despite the torrential rain, thunder and slippery surfaces. As a result of this visit we have both damaged our shoes which combined were worth over £100. We should have been asked if we wanted to continue with the tour as opposed to bring forced out of the car and no thought of the rain
