Set sail around Sal Rei's bay and spend a morning or afternoon in search of a big catch. It doesn't matter if you're a first timer or a seasoned angler – you'll fall hook, line and sinker for this fishing experience in Boa Vista.

With transport from your hotel all sorted, all you'll need is some sunblock and a sun hat to set off on your ideal morning or afternoon of fishing. You'll cruise out into the bay of Sal Rei, not too far, but far enough to get a good catch, and then the on-board equipment is all yours to use.

Drop your line over the edge of the anchored boat, and wait for something to take the bait. It might be a grouper, parrotfish, sea bream, red mullet or even a moral eel. But fishing in the waters of Cape Verde will have you hooked, whether you're a beginner or pro.

Great day, Eric was really helpful loading the hooks and we caught loads of fish. Loved that everything we caught would be eaten locally too.

The crew were helpful and experienced, the boat was basic but good enough. Getting down the rocks to get on board the boat was tricky, even for younger people let alone us in our 70’s. We caught fish though which is all that matters.

Transfer to the port was rather hairy and unorganised, we ended up walking through Sal Rei to find the boat. However once on board it was fantastic. Ulisses and his guide were great, showed us what to do quickly and we caught fish almost as soon as the weight hit the floor. The fishing was so good they could rename it catching.

Pick up was easy and transfer. You have to wade into the water to get boat so wear flip flops or easily removable shoes. Boat went far out to start fishing. Everyone had a fishing rod and were shown how to use it. Everyone caught fish and it was a good day. Lasted the full four hours and was good fun. 2 people didn’t turn up which was good as may have been too crowded.
