After pickup, the journey begins toward Kalishta, a unique spiritual destination nestled above the shores of Lake Ohrid. Visit the remarkable monastery carved into the mountain, where you’ll learn about the secluded life of a monk who dedicated his entire life to religion. You’ll also explore the newly built church dedicated to the Holy Mother Mary, famous for its stunning frescoes and one of the most intriguing icons in the region — the Black Madonna. Guests who prefer not to enter the monastery can relax with a coffee at a nearby restaurant, enjoying breathtaking lake views.
Next, you continue to Struga, often called the City of Poetry and Bridges. Home to the internationally renowned Struga Poetry Evenings, whose laureates include Nobel Prize winners in Literature, the city offers a rich cultural atmosphere. Enjoy a short guided walk through Struga’s highlights: The point where Lake Ohrid flows into the Black Drim River, charming bridges and riverside promenades, monuments, local markets, and city landmarks.
The final stop is the self-proclaimed independent town of Vevchani, famous for its traditions, pagan Carnival, and local pride. Here you’ll have time to enjoy lunch before a guided walk through the village, followed by a relaxing stroll around the natural springs and beautiful surrounding nature. At the end of the excursion, sit back and enjoy the scenic ride as we return you to your drop-off point.
