Take a guided tour of two of Paris's best-known cemeteries, Montparnasse and Père Lachaise, and hear the stories of the writers, artists, musicians and thinkers buried there.
Begin at Montparnasse, where you'll hear how Simone de Beauvoir and Jean-Paul Sartre challenged convention, learn about the literary legacy of Julio Cortázar and find out why admirers still leave tributes at their graves. Depending on the group's interests, your guide may also include figures such as Porfirio Díaz or Carlos Fuentes.
You'll then travel across Paris by metro with your guide, with a ticket for the journey included. At Père Lachaise, follow tree-lined paths past historic tombs and monuments while hearing about Jim Morrison, Oscar Wilde, Édith Piaf and Frédéric Chopin. The guide will share stories of their artistic achievements and the traditions visitors have created around their graves.
With a maximum of eight guests, you'll have time to ask questions and discover how these figures connect with Paris's history. If there's a particular grave you'd like to visit, you can request it in advance so the route can be adapted where possible.
