Costa Rica is a country bursting with natural beauty – but the Rincón de la Vieja National Park stands out from the crowd. Set off into the great outdoors and wander through the ever-changing landscapes, keep your eyes peeled for wildlife – it's prime nature spotting territory. After passing by the park's namesake volcano, you'll arrive at Oropendola waterfall for a refreshing dip, before finishing up with a delicious lunch.

With two Costa Rica family trips done to date, this excursion ranks up there as one of our favorites. It blends the perfect balance between exploring Costa Rica's pristine primary/secondary rainforest and experiencing nature at its finest: an active volcano. Our guide was very knowledgeable, attentive, and personable. The hikes were beautiful. And exploring the mud pots, gas plumes, and thermal pools made for a perfect day.

Provide water plus we were left behind about 100 yards and had to exert ourselves to stay close.

Our guide Jairo was so good at explaining the different animals and interesting plants during our hike. He was extra careful watching over some members in our group who were having a harder time with the hike. He also helped take pictures especially while we were swimming at the waterfall. Driver Mike was also very nice and taught us Spanish phrases to our delight. Excellent tour and service!
