For the first time in its 90-year history, Battersea Power Station has opened its doors to the public. This is your opportunity to step inside this iconic building and make a thrilling ascent 109 metres to the top of the north-west chimney, where you can take in panoramic views of the city.
The experience begins in the Power Station's Art Deco Turbine Hall A, where media displays and original records document the building's industrial past and recent transformation. Here, an interactive lighting installation responds to visitor input through a giant multiplayer touchscreen interface, symbolically representing the energy once generated in this facility. Following a countdown sequence, you'll enter the Infinity Room—an immersive space where digital light particles surround visitors and react to movement, creating a dynamic visual experience that connects to the building's energy-producing heritage.
From there, an express lift whisks you to the base of the north-west chimney. You then board Lift 109, a glass lift that continues your journey upwards. Guided by constellations of light, the lift makes its exhilarating ascent to a viewing platform 109 metres above ground. From this vantage point, soak in the sights of London’s landmarks and gain a bird’s eye view of the Power Station itself. After descending, you can visit the dedicated Lift 109 Shop to purchase mementoes of this special London experience.
