This remarkable site offers a layered glimpse into Rome's past. Descend below the present church to uncover a 4th-century place of worship adorned with some of the finest medieval frescoes dating from the 8th to the 11th century. Venture further down to discover a 1st-century Mithraic temple and a large public building, around whose foundations flow the lost waters of ancient Rome. Ascend back to the surface to admire the current 12th-century Basilica, boasting a magnificent mosaic, early Renaissance frescoes, a 6th-century marble chancel from the earlier church, and a Cosmatesque floor.

The entrance to the Colosseum will be approximately 2 hours after the meeting time
The entry to the Basilica is free of charge: dress code is required (shoulders and knees have to be covered)
The customer is responsible, at the time of purchase, for correctly entering their first name, last name and selecting the appropriate ticket type. The personal details must match exactly those shown on the identity document that will be presented in original form at the park entrance. The ticket category must be chosen based on the customer’s age on the day of the visit and as indicated on the identity document. All participants must present a valid original ID. Photos, copies, or photocopies are not accepted. Those who fail to present the original document will be denied entry without a refund.
