Siete pronti a conquistare la vetta più alta di Madeira? Questo percorso parte dal Miradouro do Picarouto a Santana e vi porterà al Pico Ruivo, che svetta a 1.861 metri sull'isola. Lungo il percorso potrete godere di panorami mozzafiato di cime aspre come Pico das Torres e Pico do Areeiro, oltre a scorci di Penha d'Águia e delle formazioni rocciose di Ponta de São Lourenço. Fermatevi in accoglienti rifugi per uno spuntino prima di continuare la salita. È ripida, ma la vista a 360° che si gode dalla cima? Pura magia di Madeira.

Although it was raining and windy with bad visibility, it was still a great hike. The guide was friendly and looked after us well. The hike is challenging in places, but worth doing. There is a cafe near the top that has facilities and you can grab food and drink. It is cold at the top so layers are recommended and waterproofs if the weather turns.

Dit is een bergwandeling met een transfer en gids. De wandeling gaat naar Pico Ruivo, de hoogste bergtop van Madeira. Volgens de gids is dit de moeilijkste hike op Madeira, maar als je in redelijke conditie bent, is het wel goed te doen (ik ben geen sporter). Het eerste deel is wat klauterwerk en dus niet geschikt voor mensen die slecht ter been zijn. Dit eerste deel kun je ev overslaan. Daarna begint de bergwandeling over bergpad met mooie uitzichten. Veel trapjes! Goede schoenen echt nodig!

Arriveerde op tijd. Gids had een goed inschattingsvermogen van de mogelijkheden van de deelnemers. Wanneer nodig hielp hij en liet het los wanner het kon. Was positief. Ondanks het slechte weer liet hij de tocht doorgaan met alternatieven. Organisatie had disclaimers goed opgesteld.

The walk was challenging in places but not overly so. Tim the guide was expert in his knowledge of the flora and fauna of the mountain and the history of the region. And on what was a miserable day weather wise kept the group engaged and entertained. 10/10

Der erste Teil der Wanderung war sehr anspruchsvolle , aber der Blick war einzigartig. Guid und Fahrer waren erstklassig !
