Two of the most distinctive neighbourhoods in Minneapolis, the trendy North Loop and the charming St Anthony Main, connect through this walking experience that traces the food story of the city from Nordic-inspired food halls to Eastern European bakeries across five tastings, with a local guide weaving in the history behind each stop.
The journey begins in a lively food hall where local chefs bring their own creativity to the table, starting with a slice of coal-fired pizza topped with thoughtfully sourced ingredients. Next comes a true Minnesota classic: golden, beer-battered cheese curds, crispy outside and melty inside, paired with house-made ketchup that elevates this beloved snack.
From there, you cross the Hennepin Avenue Bridge for sweeping views of the Mississippi River on the way to St Anthony Main, where handmade pierogies celebrate the Eastern European roots of the neighbourhood. The experience closes with a scoop of small-batch, locally crafted ice cream made with seasonal ingredients, plus a Secret Dish that remains a surprise until it appears before the group.
