Discover how Westminster became a centre of government, strategy, secrecy and resilience during the conflict. Kick off your tour on the streets of Westminster with your guide at your side to give you an insight into the history of some of London's most iconic sites like 10 Downing Street, the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey (outside visit). Then it's on to the Cenotaph, originally constructed as a memorial to the First World War, now the national monument to all fallen British soldiers. You'll also encounter the statue of Winston Churchill and the monument to women in World War II.

After the guided walking portion, continue to the Churchill War Rooms, the underground headquarters where Winston Churchill and his government directed Britain’s war effort. Inside, continue independently with the included audio guide and explore the preserved Cabinet War Rooms, Map Room and Churchill Museum at your own pace. Discover the spaces used by ministers, military strategists and communications staff, and learn more about Churchill’s leadership, wartime speeches and relationships with Allied leaders.

After the tour, guests may remain inside the Churchill War Rooms to continue exploring until closing time, subject to venue rules and capacity
Do not schedule a tightly timed activity immediately after the tour, as security checks, venue entry, and crowds can affect the exact finish time

Arriving by tube: Westminster Tube station; please follow the signs Exit 2 Victoria Embankment and then take the stairs up to street level to Victoria Embankment. The group will be meeting at the top of the stairs behind the statue of Boadicea on a chariot.
