Enjoy this half-day tour to the Wieliczka Salt Mine. A professional, English-speaking driver will pick you up at the meeting point in Kraków and drive you straight to the site, where a local guide will take you through the historic underground city.

The Wieliczka Salt Mine dates back to medieval times and has a history of around 9 centuries of salt exploitation. The tourist route through the mine is located 135 meters below ground and is accessible by stairs, or by lift on special demand. It is an absolutely unique place to visit and is a must-see during your stay in Kraków.

One of the major bonuses of visiting the Salt Mine is the health benefit of its special climate and its micro-element filled air.

An interesting place to visit. Great information from the guide. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Krakow. It is a lot of stairs and a long route, so be prepared for that. Worthwhile though.

Could have done with a little more time at the end of the tour to look at the town and souvenir shops. Only had 15 minutes from end of tour to get back to the bus.

We were unhappy that our pick up time was changed less than 24 hours before the tour was due to start. The issue was eventually resolved but I could have done without that stead on holiday

Very well organised, our driver arrived on time and he gave us all the information we needed for the trip including tickets, where we needed to go, what time to be back to the bus and a leaflet shown the parking location! The salt mines are a must visit for Krakow! Would recommend this tour!

There are 800 steps to climb, and 350 of these are at the beginning, taking you down into the mine
Student ID which shows age and university is required for student tickets (if not, a fee of 10 EUR or 50 zl will be charged)

Comfortable shoes and warm clothing, as the temperature underground ranges between 14 and 16 degrees
