This two-day Sahara adventure from Agadir takes you across the High Atlas Mountains, through traditional Berber villages and into the desert landscapes of Zagora. From saffron-growing valleys and carpet-weaving towns to ancient kasbahs and starlit desert camps, you’ll experience the best of southern Morocco in one unforgettable journey.
Day one begins with departure from Agadir as you travel towards Zagora, passing through the changing scenery of southern Morocco. Along the way, you’ll stop in Taliouine, known as the capital of saffron, and Taznakht, famous for its traditional Berber carpets, before continuing through mountain and desert landscapes. After a lunch break in Taznakht, the journey continues towards Zagora, with scenic stops to admire panoramic views of the High Atlas Mountains, ancient kasbahs and palm-filled oases. By late afternoon, you’ll arrive at the desert outskirts for a sunset camel ride across the dunes, experiencing the Sahara as the light softens over the landscape. As night falls, you’ll settle into your nomadic desert camp, where a traditional dinner, local music and warm hospitality set the scene for an unforgettable evening under a sky full of stars.
Wake up on day two to a desert sunrise and enjoy breakfast at the camp before beginning the journey back towards Agadir via Ouarzazate. Along the way, you’ll pass through Berber villages and can explore the Taourirt Kasbah and Atlas Cinema Studios in Ouarzazate. The final highlight is a visit to the iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its striking earthen architecture and cinematic history. After free time for lunch, you’ll continue your return journey to Agadir, arriving back with lasting memories of the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert.
