Join a 90-minute workshop in central Amsterdam and explore the art of Delft Blue tile painting, one of the Netherlands' most iconic art forms. Tea, coffee and mini stroopwafels are available on a self-service basis during the session.
You'll start with an introduction to Delftware, learning about the different influences that have shaped its style over time, from its Islamic origins to Italian Renaissance influence and Chinese inspirations. After the introduction, your host will guide you step by step as you create your own tile using traditional Delft Blue porcelain paint. You can choose from classic designs such as tulips and windmills, try a more contemporary style, or come up with your own pattern.
At the end of the activity, you'll take your hand-painted tile home in a gift box, along with instructions on how to oven-bake it so the design becomes permanent. A perfect handmade souvenir from Amsterdam.
