The Best of Montenegro

4.1/5
199 bedømmelser

A trip along ever-changing south Dalmatian coast from Dubrovnik takes you to the tiny country of Montenegro – a land of great natural beauty and immense cultural heritage. You'll explore Kotor, Perast and the island of Our Lady of the Rocks during this full day tour.

The day kicks off in Perast, where you'll visit the small island of Our Lady of the Rocks and the church bearing the same name – famous for the 68 frescos painted by one of the masters of the baroque fresco painting, Tripo Kokolja. Our next stop will be Kotor – a UNESCO-listed fortified medieval town, which is presented in its full beauty during a guided tour.

You'll have free time here, too. Drop into the famous St Tryphon Cathedral – considered a masterpiece of Romanesque architecture – and the Maritime Museum, or soak it all up with a drink in the square.

The experience provided a good introduction to the beauty of Montenegro. We enjoyed the whole trip and appreciated the free time in Kotor. It was a very early start, but this gave the coach a fighting chance to get through the border crossing reasonably quickly, which it did. The guide was very informative and had to give commentary in French and English, which he did well. He looked after us well.

Guide went on far to long no way could all the information be absorbed. And nearly 3 hours free time was far to long.

The guide spoke French 80% of the time At one point I timed him speaking 21 minutes in French the he spoke 2 sentences in English then went back to French for another 18 minutes. When he did speaking in English he constantly went on about the war and the fall of the former yugoslavia. The guide and the driver didn't want to stop for toilet brakes which is a must when you are on the bus around 8 hours.
