Every winter, Lapland is covered in a healthy dusting of snow – ideal for zooming across on an exciting snowmobile adventure. But what makes this trip even more thrilling is that you'll do it all at night. Tearing over the ice, you'll follow your guide through the snow-capped forests and frosty landscapes of this magical white, wintry land.

This nighttime snowmobile adventure is bound to get pulses racing. In your own snowmobile you'll rip over the ice and snow as you make your way through Lapland's wintry wilds with total ease and speed.

Follow your guide along routes and tracks, and feel the exhilaration of zipping through this enchanting scenery with the cold air biting your cheeks. A hot drink marks the end of your snowy adventure. There's no better, or more fun way to explore Lapland and if you're lucky, you may even get to spot the Northern Lights too.

The night time snowmobiling was an amazing experience, it was so beautiful and would definitely recommend. The staff was super friendly, super helpful and made sure to take care of us. However it was very expensive and we sat in the huts for about an hour warming up and having hotdogs and drinks, we would have liked more time on the snowmobiles. You were provided with all the gear before you went. You could also pay €40 for extra insurance where you pay £150 maximum if damages occurred.

We loved this trip as when do you ever get to travel across a frozen lake on a snow mobile?!? Amazing things to do. However, no guidance was given and the layers we wore were no where near enough for how you get when the wind is blowing against you in that cold. All the children came back sobbing as they were in so much pain. The snow mobiling is great but the time waiting around in the middle is too long when you are that cold. There were no northern lights and so it was just standing around.

The trip was well planned, the guide was knowledgeable and we felt safe at every step. Good equipment and the snowmobiles were in perfect condition. The guide gave a great briefing on how to operate/drive them and went through important hand signals. He kept a good pace and ensure everyone was safe and all that wanted to drive could. We were very happy that there were even vege-sausages for the mid-break BBQ! Very impressed!! I cannot think of anything that I didn't like about the trip.

Fantastic excursion was the highlight of our trip. Well organised and went at an ok pace, few faster spurts on some safe straights would have been fun but didn’t disappoint. Loads of space to sit behind the driver and hold onto the handles. Going deep into the snowy forest was beautiful. Stopping for hot drinks and sausages on open fires in teepees was a great experience. Our children loved it too being pulled in the sledge up front, they were a bit chilly so wrap up warm and more blankets could be good for the kids but, again, didn’t spoil it. They loved wearing the crash helmets and going over all the lumps and bumpy bits. Great fun, would do again in a heartbeat and recommend to anyone going near in future.

Each snowmobile is shared by two guests taking turns in driving
Drivers must be over 18 years and hold a full UK driving licence which needs to be brought on the excursion
Taking alcohol or drugs is not permitted before or during the tour
Your maximum personal liability is €980 with the insurance, your self liability can be reduced to €150 by paying a waiver supplement of €20 per safari driver in resort
It's possible to ride solo for a €55 supplement per person, sold in resort
The Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights, are a natural phenomenon which can be predicted but not guaranteed
This trip lasts for around three and a half hours in total with around an hour riding the snowmobile
All optional Lapland excursions are timed to compliment your 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 night stay in Lapland. We will confirm the most appropriate time for your chosen excursion on arrival in Lapland
This tour includes a snack, so please advise on any special diets or food allergies
This snowmobile experience is not suitable for children under three years old and not recommended for young children due to the cold nighttime temperatures
A child is allowed to sit on the snowmobile behind an adult, if they are over 140cm tall, physically strong enough, the adult helmet fits and they pay the adult price
Children under 12 years old and under 140cm tall will pay a child price and must travel in a seat in the sleigh, pulled by the snowmobile, driven by the guide. If they are under 4 years old they need to be accompanied by an adult in the sleigh.
