During the annual Feria de Pedro Romero celebrations, Ronda really knows how to put on a show. This much-loved festival celebrates the town's Andalusian roots and pays tribute to legendary local bullfighter Pedro Romero, with traditional costumes, music and plenty of festive spirit.
The day begins with a coach journey through the Andalusian countryside before climbing into the mountains, where Ronda sits above El Tajo Gorge. As you arrive, you'll be greeted by streets dressed for the occasion, with colourful decorations hanging from balconies and fluttering overhead. Everywhere you look, there's a taste of traditional Andalusian culture, from flamenco-inspired performances and live music to locals proudly showing off their classic festival attire.
One of the highlights of the day is the International Traditional Carriage Driving Competition, held in Ronda's historic bullring, where elegant horse-drawn carriages parade through the arena as coachmen dressed in traditional Andalusian short jackets show off their skills. Afterwards, there's free time to explore the town, take in the views of El Tajo Gorge from the New Bridge and wander through side streets filled with street performers and festival celebrations.
