Mobile voucher accepted

Do this because

  • Enjoy a static day or production day experience at the Coldharbour Mill
  • Visit the museum and explore 12 acres of Victorian Woollen Mill, Boilers, Steam engines and Mill grounds on a self-guided visit
  • Experience the working mill as you watch the craft women and men work on the heritage machinery

What to expect

Book your entrance ticket to Coldharbour Mill, one of the oldest woollen mills in the UK having been in continuous production since 1797. Originally owned by world-renowned textile producers Fox Brothers, the Mill took fleece from all over the world and transformed it into yarn, cloth and textiles.

Today the rich heritage lives on as one of the finest working wool museums where you are not just able to relive the sights and sounds of the industrial revolution but also see crafts men and women making traditional textiles, beautiful knitting yarn and hand woven rugs.

Enjoy a static day or production day with a self-guided visit. If you book a Static Day, explore 12 acres of Victorian Woollen Mill, Boilers, Steam engines and Mill grounds which includes 10 acres of wetland, wildlife and Mill pond which is under restoration and see the 18th century water wheel in action - the biggest breast-shot waterwheel still in action in the UK. Discover the working and static exhibits, steam boilers and engines and how this ignited the industrial revolution in the southwest from the early 19th century.

Have a look at nationally important exhibits and history of the Fox Family and their businesses, alongside the Quaker history and their impact on the early adoption of social reforms.

A Production Day includes all the fun and elements of a Static day with the added bonus of being able to experience the buzz of a lively factory floor as the Volunteers and Production Manager work on the heritage machinery. They might be spinning yarn, they may be weaving tartan, giving you a feeling for what it was really like to work in Coldharbour Mill.
