Discover Viennaâs world-famous Kunsthistorisches Museum during a guided tour and admire its highlights!
The Kunsthistorisches Museum is an architectural marvel and a must-see for any art lover visiting Vienna. The museum hosts a unique collection of some of the worldâs most famous painters from Raphael and Rembrandt to Vermeer and Rubens and, of course, Peter Breughel the Elder.
Skip the line and join a guided tour of two of the museumâs key exhibitions. From Peter Breughel's âTower of Babelâ to Vermeerâs âThe Art of Paintingâ youâll become acquainted with the old masters at the museumâs Picture Gallery. Youâll also see some of the museumâs rarest and oddest items at the Kunstkammer exhibit, like the golden âSalieraâ by Celini and the âMadonna of Krumauâ.
The highlights included in the tour are (if the artwork is not on loan or being restored, etc.): Rubenâs Assumption, Caravaggioâs Crowning with the Thorns, Breughelâs Tower of Babel, Vermeerâs The Art of Painting, Albrecht Durerâs Avarice, Raphaelâs Madonna of the Meadow and Rembrandtâs Self Portrait.
After the tour, you are free to stay at the museum to explore the remaining exhibits, including those covering ancient Greek, Roman and Egyptian art.
