We'll set off along the western coast where lava-scarred slopes drop onto deserted beaches. Scaling our way to Fuerteventura's highest point, Pico de la Zarza, we'll be rewarded with views over the island's incredible Mars-like landscapes including the Jandia Peninsula.
Your guide will give you an insight into the geology of the area, and with luck, point out wildlife like lizards, Canarian shrews and nesting birds. Sightings of Egyptian vultures and kestrels aren't uncommon either.
