Arriving at Santa Maria Maggiore, you'll find yourself in front of an elaborate facade and a striking bell tower. Upon entry to the church, the expansive central nave stretches out in front of you. Marvel at the elegance of the Loggia of Benedictions on the second floor, topped with a sculptural group. Explore Bernini’s spiral staircase, and how it's an inspiration to the world of art. Explore the basilica of Santa Prassede all'Esquilino, where faith is irrepressible. The basilica preserved the remains of more than 2000 martyrs, transferred from the catacombs of Priscilla. This is a magnificent place, sparkling with mosaics but even more so with the testimonies of holy martyrs

Please meet the local guide, who will be holding a "Loving Rome" orange flag, 15 minutes before the start time at Piazza di Santa Maria Maggiore. The location is in the between via Gioberti (Esquilino district) and via Merulana (Esquilino-Monti). You'll be taken through the main entrance and there will be an official employee that accompanies you to enter the basilica.
